Dr Ghizali Shaikh : Cosmetic Dentist                                              

Speech Title : Men’s Mental Health
I qualified in Dentistry from the University of Glasgow in 2010. In 2011 I worked at the largest hospital in Europe as a SHO in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I also spent time in the community training in paediatric dentistry and sedation . In 2012 I obtained membership to the faculty of dental Surgeons (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow. For a number of years I was the youngest elected member for the Local Dental Committee and part of the Managed Clinical Network where I helped write guidance for dentists across the Midlands. I have also travelled as far as the USA to train in fixed orthodontic systems to help me in my private dental work. I undertook an NHS leadership and management course and also started training in clear aligner systems namely invisalign and am part of the largest providing group for this system.  In 2015 I studied Facial Aesthetics namely Botox and Dermal Fillers treatments at the Royal College of Surgeons in London and began working as a Speciality Dentist at the University of Birmingham Dental Hospital. I finished my diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons London in Restorative Dentistry with a Special Interest in Periodontics and Endodontics and now work full time in a private clinic in the heart of Birmingham city centre. Outside of work I actively help within the local community. Within a couple of years I have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for humanitarian work and have been appointed to take more of a lead role in fundraising as a trustee for various charities.

Dr Munnaza Ali : GP Partner, Manor Medical Practice, GP Trainer & Lecturer for Bradford University

Speech Title : Women’s Mental Health

My name is Dr Munnaza Ali and I work as a GP partner and have my own practice in Bradford along with 4 other partners. I also work as a freelance GP in the Bradford and Yorkshire area, working in Accident and Emergency and also provide Out of Hours care as well as working in various different GP practices across Bradford.
I also work as a GP trainer for the Yorkshire and Humber area and train medical students, physicians associate students, junior doctors, GP trainees, pharmacists, nurses and physicians associates. My work at the practice involves contraceptive care and contraceptive fittings for the practice specialising in women’s healthcare and wellbeing and also specialise in teaching and training for the practice. I am also a qualified cupping practitioner verified and certified by the British Cupping society.
I also work as an Honorary lecturer at Bradford University; I am the module lead for the Obstetric and Gynecology component of the PA course. I also design their formative and summative examinations as well as designing their OSCE Examinations and work as an Examiner and an Assessor for the University. When not working at the University we specialise in teaching Leeds Medical Students at the practice and also developing and training other clinicians and GP trainees at the practice.

Dr Mohammed Mohbeen : GP Partner, Paddock & Longwood Family Practice

Speech Title : Addictions and Overcoming Addictive Behaviour

Dr Mohbeen is an experienced full time senior General Practitioner Partner of an Urban GP practice in Huddersfield. He is a GP trainer & educator and has trained many GP registrars over the years. Dr Mohbeen is a Mentor for Hijaz Community and a lecturer and examinations content writer for Hijaz World. He is married with 3 children and lives in Huddersfield. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with the family and his elderly mother and watching sport.

 

 

Omar Shah : Dietician

Speech Title : Primary Care Team Leader and Dietitian

I have been working as a registered Dietitian for the past 7 years. I have worked in a number of specialist areas including diabetes, cystic fibrosis and paediatric dietetics. After working in a hospital setting, I have now settled into a senior position of managing a community dietetics team.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr Jalil Ahmed :  Executive Managing GP for Fieldhead, Lockwood & Nook Surgeries, Director of eHarley St

Speech Title : How Mental Health Impacts Our Physical Health

Dr Jalil Ahmed is an Executive Managing General Practitioner of four UK general practices. He currently leads a team of over 100 staff that consist of managers, administrators, GPs, ANPs, clinical pharmacists, nurses and health care assistants who deliver outstanding healthcare to around 30,000 patients. He is also the founding director of eHarley St, a company that provides clinical and management solutions to practices across the UK. Dr Ahmed is a Trustee of Hijaz, a Senior Mentor for Hijaz Community and examinations content writer for Hijaz World. He is married with 3 children and spends his time between Huddersfield and Hijaz.

Dr Saiqah Azad :  Sessional GP

My name is Saiqah Azad. I work as a GP in Watford. I completed my undergraduate training at the Royal Free and University College of London Medical School. I work as a portfolio GP and am working towards my specialist interest in Cardiology. I also assist with Hijaz Community and Hijaz World projects. I am a Trustee of Watford Muslim Youth Centre. I have three children, Age 10, 5 and 18 months.

 

Dr Safwan Tayyab :  GP Partner, Stapenhill Medical Centre

Safwan is a GP Principal in East Staffordshire. He is a trainer for trainee GP’s and more recently is involved with Pharmacist supervision and education. Safwan is involved with the local PCN.

Ammarah Hannan : English Tutor and Senior Mentor for Hijaz Community

Speech Title : The Role of a Strong Community in Improving Mental Health

Sister Ammarah Hannan is an English Graduate from the University of Birmingham. She works as a private tutor for young children and has been involved with many of the dedicated educational projects of Hijaz over the last decade, including delivering lessons for the Fun Factory classes which teach young children about Islamic topics and Islamic Mindfulness. She has also researched and developed lessons for the educational platform Hijaz World. She is a longstanding member of Hijaz Community and devoted to serving the community.

Maulana Muhammad Zafar Siddique is the youngest son of Junaid e Zaman Razi e Doran Munazir e Azam Hazrat Maulana Peer Muhammad Umar Ichhravi (RA) as an Islamic Scholar, Mudariss e Quran and Spiritual Guide.
He had special spiritual guidance from his Shaykh, Shaykhul Mashayekh peer Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bukhari (RA) Sharakpur shareef Pakistan from both parents Father and Mother , and From his elder Brothers Munazir e Islam Peer e Tareekat Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Abdul Wahhab Siddiqi (RA) and Shaykh ul Hadith Monazir Islam Hazrat Maulana Peer Muhammad Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA). He is also qualified in Hijama (cupping in the way of the Holy Prophet) and continues this sunnah offering it to those who require healing.
As an Islamic Scholar, he gives guidance to different countries of the world. Currently he is Imaam, Mudariss and Khateeb in Jamia Mosque Noor ul Islam Eagle Street Coventry.

Dr Nabeela Siddiqi : Medical Doctor, MBChb, BSc Hons

Speech Title : Current Treatments for Mental Health 

Dr Nabeela is the blessed wife of Hazrat Shaykh Faizul Aqtab Siddiqi and is given the respected title of Bibi Sahiba, Spiritual Mother, of the Hijazi spiritual order. Bibi Sahiba qualified in Medicine from the University of Manchester. She has since worked in hospitals across the North and the Midlands. Since her time at university, Bibi Sahiba has played a leading role in mentoring young people and she continues to do so now in Hijaz. She spends most of her time in direct khidmat of Hazrat Saheb and raising their young daughter, as well as supporting initiatives that serve the community. Bibi Saheba has been proximate to the work of Hijaz in witnessing first hand the enrichment of young people especially women to fortifying their faith through rational understanding. Bibi Saheba says she is honoured to be in a position of serving the creation of Allah Almighty.

Hazrat Allama Maulana Tawwab Siddiqi (RA) : Islamic Scholar

Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiq (RA) is the second youngest son of Hazrat Munazir-e-Azam Maulana Muhammad Umer Siddiqi Icharvi (RA) and the younger brother of his eminence Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Wahab Siddiqi (RA). Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA) began his foundation studies under the blessed guidance of his honourable father and then later continued his studies in the world renowned Islamic Institution of Jami Nizamia Rizvia in Lahore. After completing his studies in the 80s he continued with the mission of his family by teaching and guiding people to Allah Almighty. Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA) became an accomplished debater, like his father, defending the beliefs of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamat. He participated and succeeded in close to one hundred debates and beecame known as ‘Munazir-e-Islam’ (Defender of Islam).

Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA) was not only an expert in debating but also a esteemed expert in the sciences of Hadith and became a specialist lecturer in the subject at the Institution of Jamia Nizamia Rizvia, Lahore, where he taught for over 25 years. He carried out all his teaching for free, and has over 20,000 scholars who across the world who learned from him directly on the topic of Hadith. Hence he was also known as Shaykh-ul-Hadith (Guide to the Sciences of Hadith). Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA) like his honourable father and brother was not only a scholar but also a Sufi who spent most of his day in the worship of Allah Almighty. Hazrat Allama Maulana Abdul Tawab Siddiqi (RA) did not only have the honour to serve Islam his entire life, but one the greatest blessings he was grateful for was the opportunity of sitting in secluded worship in the blessed Masjid-e-Nabwi (Mosque of the Prophet SAW in the Sacred City of Madina) every year during the month of Ramadan for 40 years. His soul departed this world and reunited with the Creator on 17th June 2020.

Maulana Asim Awan: Islamic Scholar, Solicitor & Senior Partner, Green & Olive Solicitors

Graduate of Hijaz College, Maulana Asim completed his LLB at University of London while he was studying at Hijaz College, attaining an MA Islamic Law and Theology in 2009. He is a qualified solicitor working in Birmingham. He is a Hafiz of the Quran, and has been teaching Islamic Theology since his graduation. He is also the curriculum convener for the Hijaz Diploma course and a key member of Muslim Arbitration Tribunal. He is happily married and a father of three beautiful children.
