The Blessed Summit 2010 on
Serving His Creation
Hijaz Community invites you to our forthcoming event between 2nd-4th July 2010 in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. This year The Blessed Summit will include a series of talks, seminars and workshops on ‘Serving His Creation’.
This is an opportunity for you to consider and explore the role an individual can play within their society from a fresh perspective. We invite you to ask the question, where does service to your Creator begin? Our conduct with the rest of creation could bring us towards a meaningful relationship with our Creator. The Summit is an environment in which the individual can discuss relevant topics and implications within this theme with a rejuvenating approach.
The Summit is held in the grounds of Hijaz College which is surrounded by 64 acres of beautiful tranquil English countryside, giving you the ideal surroundings for self reflection in a calm and serene environment. The relaxed informal atmosphere will also allow you to take time out from the frustrations of modern life, spend time in good company, hear uplifting Nasheeds (Islamic poetry), speeches from various members of Hijaz Community, and group Dhikr (remembrance of the Creator).
Serving His Creation
Take a moment to consider refreshing and eye-opening perspectives about who or what encompasses the whole of creation, and ponder upon the concepts of relating to the Designer, Creator and Architect of it all.
How can serving His creation help you?
Who can you serve? Is there a need for you to serve anyone but God?
Can you as an individual make a difference on your own?
How do you think we can make our communities more charitable?
How do the Prophets and the Pious serve?
In the modern world, we are faced with increasing self-centredness and self-serving attitudes being the norm. Society is made up of individuals ignoring the needs of others, including neighbours, family and the stranger on the street.
Why should an individual serve anybody at all?
The natural social makeup of a person does not allow for us to serve only ourselves; our way of living encourages the mutual benefiting of members within a community. It is, thus, a core aspect of man as a social creature to bring cooperation, benefits and enhancements to others with whom we live. It is increasingly common for an individual to forget or neglect the needs of others, in an effort to sustain their personal goals.
Faith based communities can often centre themselves solely upon practices to do with worship without looking at ways in which the whole of society can be enriched. However, at Hijaz Community, a flourishing society is envisioned to be made up of individuals sharing a desire to love the Creator through loving His creation.
The event is FREE of charge and visitors of all backgrounds are welcome to attend.
Food and basic accommodation facilities will be provided throughout the course of your stay.
